Descriptiion:

After this interesting training, you can explain the concept of sustainable finance, the difference between ESG and SDG and have an understanding on the importance of the topic. Further you will understand what a sustainable finance strategy should cover and have a basic understanding of Swiss and International regulations and their implications for the Internal Audit department. Moreover, you will have an initial idea on how Internal Audit can approach sustainable finance.

Seminar contents:

Part I: The foundations of sustainable finance

  • Concepts: Sustainable finance, sustainability risk, positive and adverse impact
  • Relevant international standards (soft law, e.g. PRI/PSI/PRB, UNGP, OECD)
  • Regulatory requirements (hard law, focus on CH, EU and selected developments in other countries)
  • Expectations from other stakeholders, e.g. institutional investors

Part II: Implementing sustainable finance

  • Governance
  • Responsible/sustainable investments (e.g. asset management)
  • Direct relationships (e.g. lending, capital market transactions, corporate insurance)

Part III: Outlook and Internal Audit

  • What should you expect?
  • Audit approaches
