After this training, you will have a good understanding of Swiss, European, and international regulations concerning environmental and human rights due diligence and be able to explain the concept and the main steps of a due diligence procedure as well as recognize the importance of the topic. Further, you will understand the main due diligence obligations and their implications for companies and financial institutions.

Seminar content:

• Concepts: environmental and human rights due diligence, risk mapping, risk prioritization, risk mitigation, adverse impacts, supply chain, value chain, and reporting
• Relevant international standards, such as the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, and TCFD recommendations
• Regulatory requirements: main existing and upcoming regulations on environmental and human rights due diligence with a focus on Switzerland, the EU, and other European countries
• Expectations of other stakeholders, e.g. investors, suppliers, clients, customers, civil society
