Seminar objectives:

Impact, Likelihood, and Velocity are the three most common risk metrics we use in our assessments. However, how important, and significant is risk velocity for emerging risks in times of a pandemic?

During the COVID-19 crisis, we all had a unique opportunity to observe how our organization responded. As auditors, we should take a step aside and analyze what this response tells us about the culture of the organization.

In the first part of the seminar, you will learn the importance of risk velocity and how it can be applied in a future risk assessment.

In the second part of the seminar, you will look at the cultural aspects of a company and the different audit methods you can use in our on-site audits.

Part 1:

  • Apply viral risk movement trends to business and process risks
  • Demonstrate how risk velocity can be applied in an assessment
  • Examine implications for all future risk assessment based on deeper understanding of velocity

Part 2:

  • Incorporate The IIA's latest guidance on auditing culture into your practice
  • Outline culture testing methodologies you can use in your audit fieldwork
  • Demonstrate requirements for documenting cultural issues
